Pixel Art:

Using a 1 pixel large pencil and a 2 across 1 down scale to create the first line.

I duplicated this first line down and filled in the two opposite sides.

I duplicated this topside down, erasing the hidden edges and then holding shift, drew in the vertical lines to complete the cube.

Using this box as a guide, i created the elliptical sections for later use in the final fire hydrant.

I used these same methods, along with using the elliptical marquee, with a "fixed ratio" style of 2:1 for the curved parts, before filling in the colors with a 3 tone method.
